Elizabeth is one of the proud custodians of the Anmatyerr country in Utopia, Central Australia. Her paintings are borne from the close observation and the important cultural connections of the land around her.The subject matter of her paintings is drawn from the bush yam, which, during the brief and sporadic flowering, following the change of seasons or an unexpected rain, transforms the desert into a rich tapestry of hues and colours. The native yams and seeds are an important natural source of food and nutrition and are also used for medicinal purposes in her remote desert community.
