Red sand hills to the north and white sand hills to the south meet at the Great Bight. The mid point is Ooldea where many tribes met to pass on to other mobs stories, songs and culture. My late Munju mother Kumina Stevens from Nyapari told stories how she walked to the Bight and back again to her country. Ooldea is well recorded by Daisy Bates where many mobs met. Daisy was given the name of Kulbadi which is Ngoongah word for Magpie. - Artist's Statement
