STORY
Bai Bai Napangardi spent her youth and early adult years travelling through her family’s land learning traditional law and culture. She settled at Yaga Yaga with her husband Sunfly Tjampitjin and they began painting there together in the mid 1980s. Later, following Sunfly's death, she moved into the Balgo Hills community 120 Km to the north where she is now a senior law woman. Napangardi has painted some of her traditional country, which is located in the Great Sandy Desert, south of Balgo. She has depicted a soak with underground water linking two very sacred areas for women of the region. People of the Tjungurrayi and Nakamarra groups are sitting nearby with their boomerangs, nulla nullas and digging sticks.Bai Bai has painted some of her traditional country, which is located in The Great Sandy Desert, south of Balgo. This country is known as Mukuri.
