STORY
This work depicts the Dancing/Digging sticks used for collecting foods and is part of the Women's Dreaming story. This dreaming tells about a women’s ceremony. Only the women know this dreaming. It talks about travelling from north to south, east and west teaching all the young kids. They all teach people from different skin groups, so that the dreamings are passed along to the young children. Kana in Warlpiri - the digging sticks are represented in the stars by the Pointer Stars of the Southern Cross. This stick represents knowledge. Kanakurlangu, (Literal in English belonging to the digging stick), is is part of Women Dreaming.
