STORY
This Tanya Van Horen painting was selected as a NATSIA finalist in 2023 with the below description.
“I have been a tourist guide in Coober Pedy for over eight years. I take people to my Country to share where my ancestors come from. I live in the desert, [and] it's different from anything you've seen. I showed thousands of people my Country, and I celebrated with them the uniqueness of this community, of this mantra. I am attracted by colours, the colours of the landscapes in which I live, the colours of my works. You can see the Great Artesian Basin (GAB), the inland sea and Phillipson Lake. This work represents the lake, the two islands, with the two water points."
